Day 01 :

Marrakech – Imlil Valley – Tizi n’Tamatert Pass (2,279m) – Tacheddirt

The Trailhead: A private 1.5-hour morning drive takes you from Marrakech to the bustling trekking hub of Imlil.

Loading the Mules: Meet our team, load the gear onto the mules, and start walking through the valley toward Tacheddirt.

The First Col: Ascend steadily to the pass of Tizi n’Tamatert (2,279m) for your first panoramic view of the contrasting peaks.

Riverside Camp: Descend past the charming village of Ouaneskra to settle in Tacheddirt (2,300m), where our crew sets up camp beside the running river. (Total walking: approx. 5 hours).

Day 02 :

Tacheddirt – The Scree Ascent of Tizi Likemt (3,555m) – Azib Likemt

The High Challenge: Wake up early to face a long, slow climb up the steep slopes of Tizi Likemt (3,555m), a challenging path with loose mountain scree.

Massif Views: Reach the summit for your first grand look at the dramatic Toubkal Massif.

Nomadic Settlement: Make a long descent down to the valley of Azib Likemt, where we pitch our tents near local shepherds for a night under the stars. (Total walking: approx. 6 hours).

Day 03 :

Azib Likemt – Tizi n’Ououraine Pass (3,120m) – Amsouzert Village

Contrasting Landscapes: A lengthy yet beautiful day heading through changing high-altitude terrains.

The East Face View: Reach Tizi n’Ououraine (3,120m) to catch clear views of the Toubkal summit, its massive east face, and the Ifni Dome (3,876m).

Valley Hospitality: Descend into Amsouzert, one of the most striking traditional stone villages in the region. Rest your legs with dinner and a comfortable night at a local village lodge (Gite). (Total walking: 6 to 7 hours).

Day 04 :

Amsouzert – Alpine Villages – Lake Ifni (2,295m)

The Hidden Villages: Track west from Amsouzert, exploring small, isolated mountain hamlets hidden deep within the massif.

The Lake Oasis: Reach Lake Ifni by midday. It’s a profound, deep blue body of water locked between towering rocky ridges.

Lakeside Rest: Spend the entire afternoon lounging by the shores, swimming in the refreshing alpine waters, and enjoying a peaceful camp right on the beach. (Total walking: approx. 4 hours).

Day 05 :

Lake Ifni – Tizi n’Ouanoums Pass (3,664m) – Toubkal Refuge (3,207m)

The Toughest Day: Fully acclimated and fit, you tackle the most rugged trail yet—a steep climb up a dramatic scree slope.

The Rock Ledge: Reach Tizi n’Ouanoums (3,664m), a sharp, narrow ledge hanging between towering shafts of rock.

Converging at Basecamp: Zigzag down the mountain paths to reach the main Toubkal Refuge (3,207m). Fuel up with a hot dinner and rest up for tomorrow's summit push. (Total walking: 6 to 7 hours).

Day 06 :

Summit Push (4,167m) – Sidi Chamharouch Shrine – Imlil – Marrakech

Sunrise at the Roof: A pre-dawn start to conquer the final rocky ridges. Reach the summit of Jebel Toubkal (4,167m) to witness an epic sunrise over the Atlas range and Marrakech plains.

The Rapid Descent: Descend back to basecamp for a quick celebratory lunch, then follow the forested trail along the Mizane River past Sidi Chamharouch.

Marrakech Return: Meet your private transfer vehicle in Imlil to head smoothly back to Marrakech. (Total walking: 9 to 10 hours + 1.5-hour drive).

Can we actually swim in Lake Ifni during the 6-day trek?

Yes! Lake Ifni is a massive, incredibly deep natural lake. During the warmer trekking months (June to October), swimming or paddling along the shore is the perfect way to soothe tired leg muscles on Day 4.

How tough is the terrain on this circular route compared to the standard 2-day climb?

It is significantly tougher. You cross three major high passes before even reaching basecamp, and you will encounter much more loose alpine scree (small loose stones) on Day 2 and Day 5. Good trekking boots with deep ankle support are mandatory.

Do I need mountaineering experience?

No, but a good level of physical fitness is required. It’s a non-technical hike.

Can I leave my main luggage somewhere during the trek?

Yes! You only need to carry a small daypack with your essentials (water, camera, layers). Your main suitcase or backpack can be safely stored at our guesthouse in Imlil, or it can be carried by our mules to the refuge if you prefer.
